We had to put our beloved Colby, an orange-and-white tabby, down just before Christmas of 2007 because of the complications of old age (he was 18-1/2) and glaucoma. It was a terrible day! We waited a long, sad year before I began cruising the Vilas County (WI) Humane Society's website...and there he was, a tall, lanky, laid-back adult kitty named Cheeto. He'd been a stray and remained unclaimed for months. Yet, whoever lost him took very good care of this charming cat. How lucky we are that he, too, is orange-and-white, and goofy and playful like his beloved predecessor. My husband wasn't too sure about another pet as each summer we boat on Lake Superior with our trawler, but we're now very sure this friendly, easy-going, handsome fellow will become Admiral Cheeto in no time.
