Kai & I

I found Kai on Petfinder on a Monday, after searching rescues and shelters for a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (my favorite breed). He was scheduled for euthanization the following Wednesday. I immediately contacted the Auglaize County Dog Warden who agreed to keep him until Saturday so that I could make the out-of-state trip from Indiana to Ohio to pick him up. After having him home only six days, he became very ill and I rushed him to Animal Emergency where he tested positive for Parvo and heart worm, and was admitted indefinitely into their care. I was sure I was going to lose him. I called constantly to check in and also visited, taking him toys to occupy his time and kissing him through the bars of his cage as I wasn't allowed to let him out. I wanted him to know I was pulling for him and needed him to stay strong and fight off the infection. Three days after being taken in, he had made extensive progress and was sent home to resume his happy ending. Kai is nothing short of a miracle and I believe we were both very blessed and fortunate to have found each other. Not an aggressive Pit Bull in the least; he does have the ability to lick you to death.
