Beau found us in January 2000; my husband was up early and loading up his truck to go fishing, when he turned around there was a young lab sitting on the sidewalk just looking at him. When my husband started back to the house Beau followed him to the door as if he belonged here. I made reports to the animal shelters in our area, but had only one call and the person wasn't able to name the color of his collar correctly so we decided he was ours! We took him to the vet for a check up and shots and I asked how you could ever trim a dogs nails so short, the vet looked at his feet and said they weren't trimmed, they were that short because he had been on the run for a while.....
We had just lost one of our black labs six months earlier and it was as if Midnight sent this young fellow to keep us and our other dog company.
Beau just loves his pool and can't wait for the weather to warm up enough so I fill it up for him to lay around in! Now he is an only dog with five cats to keep him company when we are not home, but I think he is fine with that!
