Three years ago our beloved pit, Nell, died suddenly from a ruptured heart valve. My heartbroken husband and I despaired of ever finding another dog we would love as much. As soon as we saw a two month-old, bat-eared little bag of bones at our local Animal Care & Control Center some months later, we were goners. Stella is now three and a half years old -- a gentle, loving little powerhouse of muscle and licky kisses who loves her big Golden Retriever brother, Luc. We still miss our Nell every day -- but we know she sent Stella to us.
