Romeo is an eight year old boy who was clearly a valuable stud for the mill he came from. He was rescued by Curly Tail Pug Rescue www.curlytailpugrescue.org
Romeo is being fostered by Curly Tail Pug Rescue and has been placed into a foster home that is patient with him as he gains trust. He is petrified of human hands but does indeed learn to trust quickly. After three short days, he knew his foster mom and has completely bonded. Once separated for any amount of time and reintroduced to his foster mom he immediately goes into "fight or flight" mode and begins barking incessantly as a nervous response. As soon as he remembers his foster mom, he is all love and the nervousness completely subsides. The flip side to this: when Romeo has been with his foster mom and she leaves, he howls and barks showing signs of separation anxiety. His vocals are in great working order and although the frequency and episodes of barking and crying are already subsiding. Romeo was neutered almost immediately upon arrival and like the rest had several teeth extracted.
It is clear Romeo was abused on some level based on the behaviors he exhibits and he truly deserves a place to know, trust, and be loved. Romeo has a heart of gold and once a trust is gained, there is no doubt about it--he will make the most lovable pet. Curly Tail Pug Rescue is doing everything we can to get Romeo rehabilitated and into a "perfect match" home where he can be cared for loved, and live his life in peace and comfort!
