Sam

Sam showed up in our yard one day, skinny and very afraid. We gave him food and water. Finally he started eating and trusting us. That was 2 years ago and Sam is a big part of our family. He goes everywhere with us, and Loves to play fetch. Sam jumps in any body of water. When my small grandchildren come over, no matter what he's doing,(even eating a bone) they can lay on him, and he doesn't growl or anything, In fact, we've never heard him growl. I write this story because we live in the country and alot of people just drop their animals out here. It's very sad, we take all of them in, but not everyone is like us, and will let them starve. You never know what you are throwing away, like, Sam, he is such a part of us. We have another dog, Jed, His mother was found in our yard also, and had puppies, which we kept one of them, and the other day, Jed saved our neighbors life, barking until she woke up with her house on fire. So whoever dropped his mother off, Thank You. Again, I feel lucky to live in the country where we can keep all the animals that show up at our house, but there are places out there that will help you find a home for your pet, Please don't just assume that someone out there will take care of him/her, Find them a home. We love our animals so much, our life would be empty without them.
