We lost our dog Eddie to cancer on June 8, 2008. Two days later I found myself on petfinder.com. There, I saw Sid (Catahoula Leopard Dog), who'd been found living in a cornfield with his siblings. We were definitely not ready to think about adoption but I regretted that he wouldn't be ours.
By the end of August our 14 year-old dog Otis was lonely. We decided to adopt. Incredibly, Sid was still available! Otis met him and, despite meeting several other potential friends, he loved Sid the most. Almost three months after I first saw him, Sid came to live with us.
Sid has been the best friend. He's smart and loving and sweet to Otis. The only reason I can find for him not finding a home before is that we were meant to be together.
