My boy - HENRY - 8th of 9

My boy - HENRY - 8th of 9

I was working out of town and was walking out of a Pilot Gas Station/McDonald's and this little kitten and his friend were running in and out of people and cars, looking for something to eat. I ran and got food for them and fed them in an adjacent field. I did this everyday, except weekends when I went home, for four months. I knew that when my job ended in the area that I couldn't just leave them. I also had found out that they were trying to jump into the drive thru window and that the pound was going to come get them. They were both very feral. The day I was to leave, I trapped both of them. I brought them home and kept them in another room for a couple of months. This great little guy is feral no more. He can't get enough lovin's. He is just so much fun!!

My boy - GRANDPA - 7th of 9

My boy - GRANDPA - 7th of 9

Ok. So the day I bring Hidey home, I can't find her. I know that she couldn't have gotten out of the house, but, WHAT IF! I'm in a panic and get in my car. I get down by a busy street and I see a cat sitting in a parking lot. It's dark and I thought it may be Hidey. I get out of my car and this cat comes to us. My husband picks him up and we bring him to our house. We placed an add in the paper, and called the humane society, because he is an older, neutered male and we figured someone was missing him. No one ever claimed him, so now he lives with us. He got his name because he is the oldest of the cats and he's kind of crabby, but we love him.

My honey boy

My honey boy

Phil and his sibblings come to us as our very first foster littler. 5 in total. We lost 2 the first night. But Phil and his 2 sisters hung in until we could get to the vet on Sunday. I had no idea how difficult it was to take care of 1 week old kittens. We learned so much from this first litter and have cared for countless litters since. We never would have been able to if it wasn't for my honeyboy and his sisters. When I was down with a bad back Phil would come and lay on my back to give me some "energy". After surgery my boy was there with me every second. If I am sick Phil is there. If I am sad, Phil is there. I love my HONEY BOY and I am sure there will never be another

My girl - Hidey - 6th of 9

My girl - Hidey - 6th of 9

I was looking at cats on Petfinder. Why, I don't know. I came across this cats picture and story and started to cry. I had to have her. She seemed so sad when I picked her up. I didn't want her to have to be put to sleep. She got her name Hidey, because she stayed hidden most of the time in the first couple of months. She is slowly but surely coming around more everyday, even sleeping on the bed and wanting to be pet more. I love her.

The Spirit of a Survivor

The Spirit of a Survivor

Maggie G was a 16 week old puppy when she finally came to our loving home, and the poor little sweetie had endured such terrible abuse from a very early age. She was malnourished, had very little calcium in her young body, had the mange, and to top it off, at the tender age of 10 weeks was tied up and dragged behind a car through the local suburban streets on the NSW Central Coast, and left to die at a dump.
Fortunately, she was discovered by a worker who immediately reported the travesty to the local pound who then passed her on to our local veterinary clinic.
Her injuries and state of health was so bad that the vet seriously considered euthanasing this poor little innocent, however, luck was shining down on Maggie that day as he decided to see if he could save her and bring her back to health.
The result is 7 years on nothing fazes this little girl and she happily enjoys the comforts of a loving human and furry family. Her spirit is truly one of great joy, fun and the love of life!

My first boy - BOY PRINCE - 5th of 9

My first boy - BOY PRINCE - 5th of 9

My daughter watched as two boys went across the parking lot to put this kitten in a dumpster. She went over and took the kitten from the boys and gave them a good scolding. Not knowing what to do with the cat, she brought him to us. Not really wanting to take on number 5, we ended up falling in love with the little guy and kept him. He is full of energy and loves to play with all of the cats.

My mom had a few feral cats up on her farm and one of them had a litter of kittens. She was so sweet, I had to have her. She loves to be petted and loved on. She gets along with all her brothers and sisters.

My girl - SUMMER - 3rd of 9

While standing on the side of the road talking with my daugher, we heard a "meow" and watched this little kitten run into the two lane highway. My daughter yelled, "Mom, get it!" because a tractor trailer was coming rather quickly. I ran as fast as I could and scooped her up. She hissed at me;) I didn't know where to put her, so I just brought her home. She has been the best cat ever. Never a problem.

My girl - MORGAN - 2nd of 9

My girl - MORGAN - 2nd of 9

This is Morgan. Kitty number two. I figured Cow needed a sister. My friend pointed out a little girl with a kitten and I went and asked her mom if they had anymore. She said there was one left and that the momma cat wasn't taking care of them. I went after work and found her sleeping on mulch outside the house. She barely fit in the palm of my hand. I bottle fed her for a couple of weeks and she has been a fantastic, fun, loving cat. She loves my husband. She is his baby girl.

Boo Bunny

Boo Bunny

Boo was found abandoned in a small dirty cage and was very skinny. His teeth had grown up to his eyes and his nails were long. I am a shelter volunteer and brought him home to foster until a rabbit rescue could take him. He was fearful and aggressive lunging at me and growling(yes bunnies do growl when they are angry!) when I got too close. This made it very difficult to care for him. In fact I couldn't wait to send him to rescue.
I took him to the vet who advised we remove his front teeth. Otherwise they would continue to grow and make it difficult for him to chew food. Dental malocclusion is common in dwarf rabbits and prevents them from chewing properly and they can't grind their teeth down . It requires monthly teeth clipping or removal.
Boo got his name because my husband said he looked like a goul with his black eyes and it was Halloween when he came to my home. Over time with lots of patience and soothing talk Boo slowly started to trust me. His true sweet personality started to show and I grew to love him and decided to adopt him into my pack. He is a very happy, playful well fed bunny now. He is litter box trained and he has run of the house while I am home. He loves to lay on the carpet facing the TV or us. He races across the floor and does Binkys to show his joy. He likes to play tag with my dog and my 2 cockatiels frequently visit him and sing to him which he seems to enjoy. He has truly stolen my heart and I am so happy to have him. Any animal can blossom with love and patience!
